9th Annual Hauling Pros Holiday Party was a blast!

We had our Holiday Party a couple weeks ago at the Elephant Bar in Concord. As we were sitting around the table with the guys and their significant others I really felt proud to be a part of Hauling Pros. Every year around this time I like to reflect back over the past 12 months and think of all of the things that I am greatful for personally and professionally. Personally, I have had an incredibly fulfilling year and am thankful for far too many things to list. Professionally, I am amazed at what a small group of dedicated guys (AKA Hauling Pros) can accomplish in a year. The economy has been tough for alot of people out there but I am proud to say we have not had to lay anyone off and have actually hired a couple newbies!

Here is the short list of what the guys of Hauling Pros have accomplished this year:

1. Recycled over 1 million pounds of e-waste and opened a new recycling center

2. Diverted over 50% of the 1,600 tons of debris from the landfill

3. Moved and re-used over 3000 tons of dirt

4. Recycled over 1,500 tons of Concrete

5. Had a PERFECT safety record with no injuries for the whole year

6. Donated over $4,000 to local charities

7. Increased our Demolition business by 35%

8. Achieved our 3rd consecutive year of Diamond Certification

9. Maintained our A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau.

10. Increased our warehouse space from 1,000 sq/ft to 6,100 sq/ft for recycling operations

I wish all of our loyal customers, employees, affiliates, suppliers, support services, and everyone else I forgot to metion the Happiest of Holidays and a Fruitful New Year! THANK YOU!~

Welcome Heidi! Our new "Reuse, and Recycling Coordinator"

In an effort to continue having the best enviromental practices in the industry we have created a new position of Re-use and Recycling Coordinator. Her job will be to sort through all of the "junk" from hauling operations, re-usable building materials from the demolition operation, and repairable electronics from the recycling centers and directing them to new homes through Sale, Donation, Giving away, or Recycling in that order.
Our goal for this new position is to create a sustainable program that aligns with Hauling Pros vision of (1) Creating jobs in the community (2) Diverting more materials from the Landfill and (3) Donating usable goods to those in need. WISH HEIDI LUCK!!

Need Stuff?? We have STUFF!

Between our Hauling operation, Demolition operation, and Recycling Centers we come across just about everything at one time or another. We try our best to either donate, sell, or give away as much as possible, then we try to recycle it, then we have no other choice but to take it to the transfer station to get rid of it.
SO.....If you ever are in need of a computer cable, an old coffee table, a spatula, a lid to a toilet seat, a calculator, a filing cabinet (those are just things I can see from my desk right now) PLEASE let me know! I will put you on my list and when it comes in I will give it to you. FREE

More Than Just Junk!

No matter what the job, we have the equipment to handle it.
Some customers have informed me that they had no idea we did more than just junk hauling. So...today me and Wade pulled out all of our "other" stuff we use to make us the Hauling Pros.
In the background you will notice some trucks and equipment that look different than our "1-866-HAULERS" trucks. Bobcats, Excavators, 10 Wheelers, Dumpsters, Compactors, Forklifts and more help us to be the true PROS of the industry. In closing. Don't ever be afraid to ask if we do something because there is a good chance.....WE DO!

Keeping it GREEN!

WooooHoooo! Hauling Pros are in the 4th years as a certified Green Business. I'm an avid outdoors person so keeping it Green is just a matter of common sense. I'm happy to see so many businesses and individuals taking it upon themselves to keep this planet such a beautiful place.
So grab all of your reuseable shopping bags, water containers, and coffee mugs and use them with pride! It's the sum of all of these small acts that will create the big change we need.

It's been a while!

Hi Hauling Pros faithfuls! I have been a bad blogger and a lot has happened since my last post.
We have opened a new electronics and appliance recycling center in Walnut Creek! We are accepting TV's, Monitors, Computers, and more Free of charge. We are also accepting appliances such as microwaves, refridgerators, washers, dryers, and more for a fee of $10-20.
In addtion to openening the new recycling center we have increased the size of our original recycling center by 5 fold! We went from our cramped 1000 sq/ft space to 5000 sq/ft. Why? You ask....because it gives us far more flexibility with our onsite recycling operations. We are now breaking down all non-reuseable computers onsite which helps me to keep more of my Hauling Pros working full time during these tough economic times. The extra space is also allowing us to divert more reusable goods from the landfill from our Junk Removal operation by staging / selling goods.
If you know any non-profits that are interested in having a fundraiser let me know. We work with several local non-profits and have been successful in raising thousands of dollars for them in their time of need.
I personally make sure that all items recycled at my recycling centers are properly recycled right here in the Bay Area

We Just Opened our Recycling Facility to the Public!

And best of all...its FREE. That's right Free recycling of all electronics (e-waste) including Televisions • Monitors • Computers • Computer Componentes • Printers • Fax Machines • Telephone Equipment • Cell Phones • Toner Cartridges • MP3 Players • Power Cables • Video Game Systems • Digital Cameras • Copiers • Audio Visual Equipment • VCR’s/DVD’s • Scrap Metal • Floppy Diskettes • Steel and Alloy Rims • Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals and more

We also accept all major household appliances, unfortunately we have to charge a small fee of $5-$20 for processing.
The new (not so state of the art) facility is located at:
73 S. Buchanan Cir,
Pacheco, CA 94553
about 100 feet down S. Buchanan on the left behind SOS Roofing.

See you soon!

Driveway Removal

This project was in the hills of Oakland, the driveway had obviously seen better days but the big problem was that at the bottom of the diveway the concrete had sunken and made it extremely difficult to cars to cross. We demolished and removed all of the concrete and built up and compacted the problem area. Upon completion the driveway climbed 1/4 inch per foot for 75 feet making it easy for even the smallest of cars to climb. My bid was 1/2 of the next lowest bid, I guess the other guys don't know how to control their costs. The concrete contractor was just happy because I left the job in such a condition that he was able to just show up at the job, frame and pour. He said normally he has to spend a day or two doing the finish grade.I was able to recycle 20 tons of concrete and 15 tons of dirt and not an ounce of material ended up at the landfill!

Land Clearing

This was a simple backyard clearing project for a homeowner. He had recently bought the home as an investment and had a couple months to fix it up and flip it. Obviously the back yard had been neglected for several years and was ready for a facelift. His plans called for some new concrete, sod, and flower beds. In addition to his plans he expressed some concerns about drainage. It appeared all the water would flow towards his house. I got out my level and confirmed his concerns and graded the lot so that the water would flow towards the proper drainage areas. We demolished and removed all of the concrete, dug out the new concrete pad areas to 5" and the sod areas to 3". We also removed all of the stumps and large rocks to make it easier to landscape later on. The job took 6 hours to complete and we recycled 99% of the materials. 15 tons of concrete 25 tons of dirt found new homes outside of the landfill. 500 lbs. of stumps and roots were added to our wood recycling bin. One trash bag of mixed styrophome, plastic and debris went to the transfer station. Not the 100% we shoot for, but still pretty good.
